A New Chapter at High Plains Community Center

Like many community centers, we are always evaluating how to use our spaces and how we can best serve the needs of our communities, both now and in the future. With this in mind, we want to share two a few important updates: the removal of our gym equipment, the completion of the conference room and the addition of electronic e-tab machines.

Gym Equipment

Recently, we’ve taken a close look at how often our gym equipment is utilized, the cost of maintaining it and that people may utilize the other gym in town. After thoughtful consideration, we decided to remove the equipment. This decision reflects a shift in what the center would love to begin using our space and resources towards – we are working to better align spaces with current community needs and long-term sustainability.

Conference Room

The conference room is designed with smaller groups in mind, the space features upgraded audio/visual equipment and newly installed doors for added privacy. This creates a comfortable, functional environment for focused gatherings and meaningful connection.

The A/V system allows for seamless presentations, virtual meetings, training sessions, and workshops. The Conference Room is a versatile space which provides the right balance of professionalism and warmth. This room is perfect for hosting a business meeting, planning sessions, bridal / baby showers, club gathering, birthday party or other small celebrations.

The addition of doors makes this space ideal for:

· Board meetings

· Strategy sessions

· Training workshops

· Support groups

· Birthday or graduation parties

· Small social gatherings

This room was completed to serve as a flexible, smaller option within our facility—offering a quiet, dedicated space separate from larger events happening in the building.

We’re proud to continue improving the Community Center to meet the needs of our community and organizations.

If you’re interested in reserving the Conference Room for your next meeting or event, please contact us—we’d love to help you plan.

Electronic e-Tab Machines

We are excited to announce the addition of electronic e-tab machines at the Community Center. After a lot of thoughtful consideration, we decided to add machines to our lobby area – they offer a modern, convenient way for people (21 and over) to participate in authorized charitable gaming while supporting our mission.

The electronic e-tab machines are available for play whenever the center is open during the week (Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.). You are welcome to stop in, relax, and enjoy authorized charitable gaming in a comfortable setting.

For those who choose to participate in playing the e-tabs, beverages are available for purchase, making it an easy way to unwind and support a good cause at the same time. While playing you may request that we turn on the music and / or a specific television station.

In addition to our regular weekday schedule, the machines can also be turned on for special events and occasions. You may request to have the machines turned on for your event and they can become a fun addition to:

· Ladies’ or Guys’ nights

· Wedding receptions

· Meetings or social events

· Christmas parties

· Private parties

· Community gatherings

Whether you decide to stop in to play during business hours or hosting an event with friends and family, e-tabs offer an optional entertainment element that supports the Community Center’s & DCFA’s mission.

Charitable gaming proceeds are used in accordance with North Dakota charitable gaming laws and regulations

The goal is to ensure the center remains a welcoming, functional space for events, recreation, and community gatherings.
